Who We Are: The California Transplant Donor Network is designated by the federal government to serve as the link between organ and tissue donors and individuals awaiting transplantation. Established in 1987, it is the third largest organ procurement organization in the nation.
What We Do: The California Transplant Donor Network coordinates organ and tissue recovery and distribution, and educates healthcare professionals and the public, about the importance of organ and tissue donation and the success of transplantation. To accomplish our mission, we also work with hospital staffs to offer and offer the option of donation to families whose loved ones have died.
Area served: 175 hospitals, including four transplant centers (Stanford Hospital, UCSF Medical Center, California Pacific Medical Center and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital) and more than 11 million people in 41 counties in Northern and Central California and Nevada.
