Donate Life Ambassadors
Our Donate Life Ambassadors program is very active throughout our service area of Northern and Central California. Volunteers help educate the public by participating in a variety of activities ranging from health fairs to speaking engagements. Please see the summary of "What Volunteers Do" for more detailed information as well as the Donate Life Ambassadors program description.
While many of our Donate Life Ambassadors are transplant recipients, we cherish donor family members who also volunteer and share their personal stories with the public. Many people decide to become organ donors after hearing testimonials of donor family members and/or a transplant recipient. Even if you don't have your own personal story or tie to transplantation, we always welcome dedicated and committed people to our volunteer program. Passion for the cause of organ and tissue donation is a key requirement for volunteering with us!
All Donate Life Ambassadors must attend a "What You Need to Know" training (orientation) prior to volunteering with us. This training must be renewed every two years to stay current with the latest information. We also ask volunteers to commit to at least four events/activities per calendar year to stay active with us.
The events listed on our Web site are updated regularly so Donate Life Ambassadors can check out where they can best help out. Volunteering opportunities are constant but not regularly scheduled which means that volunteering is on an as-needed basis when events/activities are booked. We participate in a variety of events to share the message of donation within our communities. The events can be fun, emotional, exciting, amazing, and always meaningful.
On behalf of the California Transplant Donor Network and those who wait for a second chance at life, thank you for thinking of joining our Donate Life Ambassador program. We are happy to help you decide if this is the place for you to volunteer. Please feel free to contact us for more information about how to get started. If you know you want to become a Donate Life Ambassador, please see the "Sign up to be a Donate Life Ambassador" section below. Thank you!
